Features

  • Added recurring tasks. You can now schedule tasks to repeat every month on the last day, or every Monday and Friday, or anyhow else you wish.

Improvements

  • We revised urgency calculation in all groupings as well as task sorting rules. Now, it is possible to i.e. change the priority of due tasks to consider some more urgent than others.
  • Dates more than a year in the future now show the year as well
  • API access tokens now show when the token was used the last time
  • New icons available for areas (new icons include running, tree, gamepad, plane, departure, glasses, handshake, balance scale, info circle, fitness, shirt, movie, python, aws, intercom, spotify, shopify, youtube, and instagram)

Fixes

  • We fixed the planned tasks badge not including due tasks from the scheduled section
  • We fixed the issue when moving a scheduled task into regular later section was possible only by clearing the scheduled date, but not via changing the status to Later

Features

  • Added ability to pin the tasks to the top of the list
  • Added habits with weekly recurrence (both once a week and many times a week)
  • Added option to delete your account in the settings

Improvements

  • Task scheduling is now available also in By motivation grouping, therefore making it available in all groupings
  • Scheduled tasks for which the date is already here or in the past are now shown on top of the list. Previously, when the date came, the tasks were moved automatically to their previous status (or Next), possibly out of sight. Now it's up to you to decide what to do with such a task when the time comes.
  • The work-in-progress limit is now available also in Now/Later grouping, not just in By status
  • Added 40 and 50 minute pomodoro timer options
  • New icons available for areas (new icons include truck, folder, drum, campground, robot, magic, friends, fork, javascript, apple, kickstarter, producthunt, and slack)

Fixes

  • Fixed newly created accounts not being able to create access tokens for API usage
  • Fixed right-click context menu misbehaving on tasks in the completed tasks list
  • Fixed an issue when moving habits up/down was not working properly in some cases
  • Fixed a rare issue when Chrome would drop the connection to the underlying database unexpectedly causing the changes not to be persisted
  • Revised how Lunatask handles time zones in task scheduling, habit, and mood tracker, and what happens the time zone changes as people travel, as well as fixed many edge cases and some bugs related to the time zone handling

Features

  • Added Quick Add from Anywhere. You can now add tasks to your task lists on the go, on mobile or anywhere within (and outside) the reach of the internet.
  • Added Zapier support allowing you to connect Lunatask with 2000+ apps through Zapier automation platform
  • Added experimental Windows 10 support

Improvements

  • Added support for lists and checkboxes in Markdown to our task description editor
  • Improvements to date suggestions when scheduling a task to a future day
  • You can now select all tasks in the list with CMD+A (on Mac) or Ctrl+A (on Windows)
  • Added new shortcuts to create a new task in the task list. As an alternative to already existing CMD+N/Ctrl+N, you can press either N (stands for New) or A (stands for Add). All of the three shortcuts do the same thing, so it's up to you which one you prefer.
  • Added menu option to clear all local data. This resets the local installation of Lunatask clearing all data and configuration (it does not delete any data in your account). Might be useful sometimes in a case when the application ends in an error state. Usually, sign out should do the same thing.
  • In our quest to be a privacy-focused tool, we removed Google Analytics from our website to prevent Google from tracking our users
  • More consistent area icon sizes in the menu

The latest update brings Lunatask one step closer to become an open platform, as well as it brings updates to task list, habit tracker, and enhanced security.

Features

  • Added support for custom lists (we name them Areas of Life). When you sign up for Lunatask, your two default areas (personal and work-related tasks) will be still present, however, with Lunatask 0.6, you can add your own. Working for multiple clients or want to track education-related tasks separately? No problem with our new custom Areas of Life.

  • Added developer-friendly Public API. Those more tech-savvy among you, you can now build integrations that will bring tasks from your favorite tools into Lunatask automatically. This is a foundation to make Lunatask an open platform and going forward you can expect some native integration as well!

  • Added Idea Voting Portal which serves as a public roadmap where you can see and influence what we build next Improvements

  • Habit Tracker now shows your record streak for each habit to keep you motivated to beat your past record. Streak calculation was also rewritten to take habit recurrence into account.

  • Enabling us to build Public API and future integrations we rewrote the end-to-end encryption which protects your data. Previously, AES-256-GCM+PBKDF2 algorithms were used. Starting with 0.6 the cryptography algorithms used are Curve25519+XSalsa20+Poly1305+argon2id. Accounts created with earlier versions of Lunatask will be prompted to undergo a short migration when updating to Lunatask 0.6 or later.

  • Your task list configuration (workflow, grouping and sort) is now stored remotely and synced to all devices

  • New icons in task list footer to indicate better what is what

  • Login and account setup flow window is now draggable

  • Improved reliability of cloud sync

  • Improved network connection status detection
