Subscriptions

There are two plans Lunatask offers – our Free and Premium plans. The vast majority of features is available on our Free plan, with some additional sprinkles on top of them available on Premium plan.

Lunatask is a subscription-based service. We offer monthly or yearly subscriptions, as well as a one-time purchase lifetime premium.

Can I enjoy your Free plan really forever?

Yes, our Free plan will always be free, forever 🎉

When I subscribe to Premium, will it cover all my devices?

Yes, there will always be only one subscription, regardless of how many devices you have. We never liked apps where you need to pay for each platform or device separately.

Do you issue discounts for students and teachers?

Yep! Contact us for 50%-off discount coupon. The only requirement is to sign up with a valid school-issued email address.

You can apply the student discount coupon to monthly, yearly, or even lifetime purchases. Just note that the discount coupon, once applied, will be active only on the plan you initially chose. Unfortunately, Paddle's discount coupons do not persist on upgrades/downgrades – if you ever decide to upgrade (e.g. from the monthly to the yearly plan), please, send us a message, and we will sort it out.

How can I purchase a lifetime subscription?

The option to purchase the lifetime subscription for a one-time payment can be found in the settings, "Account & billing" section, right below the pricing table.

Lifetime purchase is not available in the Mac App Store version of the app. Please, download Lunatask for Mac from our website instead.

Do you consider adding regional pricing?

Yes, we do. Lunatask is a young project, and we have not yet found time to set it up. However, we understand the economic situation in countries like Brasil or Turkey, and we'd love to help. If you live in such a country, please, send us a message, and we will surely figure something out.

Why are prices in the Mac App Store different?

When we implemented the first payment provider (Paddle), we decided to exclude VAT/sales tax from the base price. Therefore, those are added to the subscription price at checkout when using Paddle.

Later, when setting up pricing for Apple's App Store, we found that they do not offer the option to exclude VAT/sales tax, and all prices are final. Therefore, we tried to more or less match final prices with what would happen when using Paddle.

We haven't made any changes to the pricing since it was introduced a long time ago, and we plan to make a pricing adjustment in the future. When this happens, we will make sure not to repeat this mistake, and we'll set both payment providers so their prices are the same and VAT/sales tax is already included in the base price.

Do you issue refunds?

We don't normally do. However, you can cancel your subscription anytime and enjoy the premium features until the end of the period you paid for.

How do I cancel my App Store subscription?

Unfortunately, Apple does not allow canceling subscriptions directly in the app. Instead, subscriptions purchased via the In-App Purchase have to be canceled in iTunes or Mac App Store settings. For the exact steps, please, see Apple's documentation.

When I delete my account, will my subscription be automatically canceled?

The subscription will be canceled automatically for subscriptions made outside of the Mac App Store (via Paddle). For iTunes subscriptions, you must manually cancel your subscription in iTunes or Mac App Store settings.

My subscription did not activate after purchase

If you made the purchase in the Mac App Store version of the app, and if you previously had an account with a subscription (now possibly canceled), most likely, the subscription was reactivated on your previous account.

There’s a mismatch between what Apple treats as one user and what Lunatask does. Although a single Apple ID can have multiple accounts in Lunatask, your singular Apple subscription can be connected only to one account in Lunatask – it will be the first one the subscription was activated on. This causes trouble with reactivations when you use a different Lunatask account.
