Link extraction

Our apps automatically extract the first link found in task descriptions and provide a convenient button in the task list to open it instantly in your browser.

This comes in handy, for instance, when creating reading lists with our browser bookmarklet.

Link extraction

Personal note from Mike

Originally, this feature was created for developers, so they could link a JIRA ticket or Trello card and access it easily. Reading lists work the same way in principle.

Given these use cases, it handles only one link. It was intended for cases where a task’s description is just the link itself and the actual task details live elsewhere – on the linked site, whether it’s a JIRA ticket or something else.

So, if you have a shopping list with Amazon links to many items, this isn’t the scenario the feature was designed for, and it won’t work quite as well there.

tip

If you find this feature distracting, you can disable it in the settings.
