Our apps automatically extract the first link found in task descriptions and provide a convenient button in your task list to open it instantly in your browser.
This comes in handy, for instance, when creating reading lists using browser extensions.
If you find this feature distracting, you can disable it in the settings.
Originally, this feature was created for developers, so they could link a JIRA ticket or Trello card and access it easily. Reading lists work the same way in principle.
Given these use cases, this features handles only one link. It was intended for cases where a task’s description is just the link itself and the actual task details live elsewhere – on the linked site, whether it’s a JIRA ticket or something else.
So if you have a shopping list in one task with many Amazon items, this isn’t the scenario the feature was designed for, and it won’t work well for that case.
